Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipefitter to join our maintenance team in Greenville, SC.

(Pay is based on upon experience).

Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Scale and read mechanical drawings and apply to field
  • Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to require angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines or pipe-bending machines
  • Work on systems that include heating hot water, chilled water, steam, condensate, compressed air, process fluids, chemical, fuel oil, and other fuel related systems
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe hangers and centerlines, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures suing measuring instruments such as rulers or levels
  • Must be able to pipe pumps, chillers, boilers and tanks
  • Able to use portable bandsaw or cutting torch to cut pipe, bevel pipe and fittings for welding
  • Work with materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics, fiberglass, and copper
  • Repair, cap, and test all types of mechanical piping systems
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
  • Read blueprint and submittals
  • Instruct helpers under your supervision
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • OSHA10 Certification preferred
  • Hold license to operate equipment necessary for the role

Helpers Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to require angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines or pipe-bending machines
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe hangers, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures suing measuring instruments such as rulers or levels
  • Assemble pipe sections, using torch for soldering and able yo use pipe wrenches for crew pipe.
  • Must be able to use portable bandsaw to cut pipe, bevel pipe, and fittings for welding
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, and valves
  • Fabricate pipe supports and install hangers on VAV's, FCU's, and AHU's
  • Work with materials that include carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics, fiberglass, and copper
  • Repair, cap, and test all types of mechanical piping
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors
  • Hold license to operate equipment necessary for the role
