Job description

This role is a contract-to-hire position with an initial contract period of 90 days, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.


The Motion Designer must have enthusiasm for storytelling and animation. They must be self-motivated, hardworking, and willing to tackle all tasks presented before them. The Motion Designer must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, creative environment. They will be responsible for the editorial and finishing of high-quality commercial video content, along with special projects that need extra animation and motion design.


In addition, this role carries a range of supporting responsibilities, including media ingest and organization into the company’s internal server and DAM, metadata tagging, and general server organization.


The candidate should have familiarity with all aspects of motion graphics animation, video post-production, color correction, video editing, and basic audio mixing capabilities. They should be able to collaborate and work well with others as well as work independently managing their time while working on multiple projects at once.


This role is a good opportunity for growth and skill development in all areas of post-production. The candidate will work directly with creative personnel, account coordinators, and production personnel, and will build stronger instincts as a video editor with a good sense of judgement of editorial pacing.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Creates and/or refines graphic elements for all content including TV, web, digital, and presentations
  • Specializes in motion design and animation for their own projects, along with assisting the team of Editors
  • Helps develop audio solutions that complement different visuals
  • Works closely with production staff and account team; collaborates well but can also take creative criticism
  • Solves creative problems effectively under tight deadlines
  • Prepares media files for distribution across multiple digital platforms (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo)
  • Manages digital asset organization, including media ingest and file/server organization


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Audition
  • Superior project management, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple deadlines
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and solution-oriented team player
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Communicative and responsive via Company email and Teams chats.
  • Understanding of video codecs and associated best practices
  • Basic color correction knowledge using DaVinci Resolve or Lumetri color


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Advertising Agency experience
