Position Title: Bus Driver

Position Summary:

This position will ensure each guest is greeted warmly, provided a safe and enjoyable bus experience, and offers proactive information via a script about our Dairy & Pig Farm Adventures. This will be done by offering interesting facts as well as answering any questions our guests may have.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively greets guests, groups of people, and schools within earshot with a warm welcome.
  • Fully explain what guests of the Dairy/Pig Adventure will experience during their bus tour utilizing script.
  • Guide guests on what activities to do after their bus tour experience utilizing script.
  • Ensure buses are clean, functional, and safe.
  • Ensure that the HUDS and other barn exhibits are running properly.
  • Obtain and share accurate dairy/pig knowledge with guests and co-workers.
  • Solve problems as they occur.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, being engaged, present and attentive to all guests.
  • Professionally, politely, and positively communicate to guests and co-workers.
  • Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from company standard operating procedures and/or management.
  • Command attention and take the lead with group leaders and teachers.
  • Stay organized in manner, with materials, and company property.
  • Stay in constant communication with other departments, informing them of guestsโ€™ activities and their requests.
  • Multitask and anticipate the needs of guests.
  • Communicate departmental improvement ideas or safety concerns to management.
  • Communicate effectively with Legacy Farms when issues arise.
  • Comfortable working with all ages and demographics.
  • Any other duties in addition to these in the normal course of the organizationโ€™s operation.

Job Requirements:

  • Commercial Driverโ€™s License (CDL), Class B or higher.
  • Any and all endorsements/requirements required for safe, legal operation of tour busses. (i.e. Passenger & Current DOT Physical)
  • Minimum 2 yearsโ€™ experience in driving commercial vehicles.
  • Minimum 2 yearsโ€™ in a customer service type position.
  • Able to perform pre-trip inspection on buses and record.
  • Superior listening and communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Moderate technical expertise.
  • Ability to gain knowledge of company products and farm procedures.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, outgoing, and polite demeanor and appearance.
  • Able to handle a moderate activity level and maneuver quickly.
  • Manages time effectively and adapts quickly to changing priorities.
  • Team player who works productively with a wide range of people.
  • Able to think and work independently with some directions.
  • Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures.
  • Good organizational skills and flexible availability.
  • Weekend work is required.
  • Follow SOPs in department you are assigned to that day.
