Job description

Milk Barn LLC, a dairy equipment and system provider, is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Installer/Service Technician (will train right candidate). At Milk Barn, we aim to improve and support the dairy industry by providing integrity-driven resources and services, delivered by people who care deeply for the dairy farmers we serve. Installer/Service Technician Apprentice Description

  • Serving as a training technician until graduated to full technician status
  • Communicate internally with the service manager and service team to keep them updated on project status, workflow, etc.
  • Help install both new and used milking equipment on dairy farms
  • Perform day-to-day service calls on local dairy farms
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on local dairy farms
  • Help to diagnose equipment issues and provide a solution to the customer
  • Opportunity to learn new technician modules including:
  • Refrigeration

  • Conventional milking systems
  • Robotic milking systems
  • Automation
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Control wiring
  • Milk quality focus

This role will require travel to local dairy farms. A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to obtain a medical card (DOT driver) may be required.

Qualifications

  • No college education or prior experience required
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Any mechanical or dairy farming background is preferred, but not required
  • There will be a 60-day probationary period
