  • THE NEXT TRAINING SESSION STARTS AUGUST 17TH
  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
    • The Practice Assistant is a training opportunity to become a Certified Medical Assistant. The Practice Assistant provides scheduling and other administrative services in the Physician Practice Service Center, and participates in the Berkshire Health Systems Medical Assistant Program. The Practice Assistant receives clinical skill instruction. After gaining appropriate knowledge and skill, he or she functions clinically under the direction of the preceptor, and will perform other duties as requested by the Practice Site Supervisor.
  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
    • Experience:
      • N/A
    • Education and Training:
      • High School diploma
      • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • License, Certification & Registration:
      • CPR certification required within 12 weeks of hire.
    • Other Requirements:
      • Experience in basic office skills preferred.
      • Data entry skills preferred.
      • Working knowledge of Windows based PC applications required.
      • Ability to work independently and take direction.
      • Demonstrated ability to read and follow written/verbal direction.
      • Sensitive to diverse cultures and cultural differences.
      • Ability to learn new computer software; Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multifaceted position.
      • Good telephone communication skills.
      • Must be flexible to cover for vacations and earned time absences.
      • Flexible hours required. Self-motivated and ability to be independent and flexible within a team framework.
