About This Role

The Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator supports the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of instructional practices across all Chroma ELA programs, serving children from infancy through school-age, including ASP and camp programs. This role combines curriculum coordination, instructional coaching, classroom support, training, and quality assurance to ensure consistent, developmentally appropriate, and high-quality learning experiences across all centers.


The position works collaboratively with the Education Team, Center Leadership, and Teaching Staff to strengthen curriculum implementation, classroom environments, classroom management systems, assessment practices, and instructional consistency. All curriculum, training materials, and programmatic initiatives must align with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS), Chroma ELA instructional expectations, and licensing requirements.


While curriculum development and educational support are collaborative team efforts, the role operates under the direction of the Vice President of Education, who retains final approval authority for curriculum, training, and programmatic decisions.


What You'll Do
  1. Curriculum Development Alignment

 Collaborate with the Education Team to develop and refine lesson plans for:

o Infant programs

o Early childhood classrooms

o After-School Programs (ASP)

o Camp programs

 Ensure curriculum aligns with:

o Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS)

o Developmental milestones

o Licensing and regulatory standards

o Chroma ELA instructional expectations

 Develop curriculum supplements, enrichment activities, implementation guides, and instructional

resources

 Assist in creating and updating Chroma PrismPath documents, tools, and activities

 Support curriculum enhancement initiatives and implementation fidelity across all centers

 Prepare curriculum materials and instructional resources for final VP of Education review and approval

  1. Instructional Coaching Classroom Support

 Conduct routine classroom walkthroughs and structured site visits

 Observe classrooms and provide strengths-based coaching to teachers and center leadership

 Support teachers with:

o Classroom management strategies

o Routines and transitions

o Student engagement

o Developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)

o Lesson execution and instructional pacing

 Model instructional strategies and co-teach as needed

 Provide written feedback, action steps, and implementation follow-up within designated timelines

 Reinforce consistency in classroom expectations and instructional delivery across centers

  1. Classroom Environment Room Arrangement

 Support teachers and directors in creating developmentally appropriate classroom environments

 Ensure learning centers are:

o Organized

o Accessible

o Properly labeled

o Aligned with curriculum objectives

 Provide guidance on:

o Classroom flow

o Schedules

o Visual supports

o Material accessibility

o Student independence and engagement

 Recommend improvements to increase safety, organization, and instructional effectiveness

  1. Training Professional Development

 Collaborate with the Education Team to design and implement GELDS-aligned professional

development

 Support onboarding and ongoing staff development initiatives

 Develop and facilitate trainings related to:

o Curriculum implementation

o Classroom management

o Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)

o Assessment administration

o Instructional strategies

 Assist in creating internal training materials, implementation checklists, and teacher support resources

  1. Assessments Instructional Data Use

 Support teachers in completing required assessments on schedule

 Provide guidance on assessment administration, documentation, and developmental progress tracking

 Assist staff in using assessment data to inform lesson planning and individualized student supports

 Help maintain organized assessment timelines and documentation systems

 Monitor implementation fidelity and assessment completion across centers

  1. Collaboration Quality Assurance

 Partner with directors and education leadership to identify instructional priorities and improvement

opportunities

 Support readiness for licensing visits, quality reviews, and internal audits

 Gather and analyze feedback from staff and leadership to inform curriculum improvements

 Maintain documentation related to:

o Site visits

o Coaching plans

o Curriculum updates

o Training participation

o Classroom observations

 Ensure consistency and instructional quality across all Chroma ELA locations


Requirements
  •  Experience in early childhood education, instructional coaching, curriculum support, or related field
  •  Strong knowledge of:
  • o GELDS
  • o Child development
  • o Classroom management
  • o Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP)
  • o Lesson planning and instructional support
  •  Ability to effectively coach and mentor adults
  •  Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  •  Ability to pass all required background checks
  •  Ability to travel independently between centers
  •  CDA, Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

Nice To Haves

 2+ years of experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, or educational leadership

 Experience with assessment tools used in early learning settings

 Experience developing curriculum resources, teacher guides, and training materials
