What is elementary curriculum?

Elementary curriculum refers to the structured set of courses, lessons, and learning experiences designed for students in elementary school, typically from kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade. It covers core subjects such as reading, mathematics, science, social studies, and often includes art, music, and physical education. The goal is to provide foundational knowledge, develop basic skills, and foster social and emotional growth in young learners. Elementary curricula are usually guided by state or national education standards to ensure consistency and quality in education.

How does an Elementary Curriculum Specialist typically collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement new educational programs?
