Job description

  • Assist the Pharmacist and carry out authorized technical functions on a daily routine of the Pharmacy department involving the packaging, procurement, and distribution of all drugs guaranteeing quality patient care.

Education:
  1. Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
  2. Register for the certified pharmacy technician exam within 6 months from the start of employment.
  3. Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy within 12 months of hire. Failure to obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician status within 12 months may result in termination from position.
B. Job Knowledge:
  1. Strong multi-tasking, basic computer skills, good customer service and communication skills needed.
  2. Ability to prioritize work to meet customer needs.
  3. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to perform accurate dosing
  4. Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
