Now Hiring: Full time Pharmacy Tech 40 hours per week (M-F 7:30am-4:00pm)

No Evenings, Weekends or Holidays!

Missouri Cancer Associates is a multi-specialty practice including medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology and urology. We have 22 providers that service ten Missouri communities.   Our main office is in Columbia. Through state-of-the-art medical technology, highly experienced physicians and nurse practitioners and quality patient care, Missouri Cancer Associates has become the premier Cancer Treatment Center in Mid-Missouri. In 2022, we celebrated our 40th year of taking care of patients!
We are looking for a friendly and hard-working Pharmacy Tech to join our team.

This position is located at 1705 E Broadway, Columbia, MO. Missouri Cancer Associates is affiliated with Urology Associates of Central Missouri and the US Oncology Network.

SCOPE: Under direct supervision of a pharmacist performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities
  •  Check all orders for completeness of information.
  • Verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
  • Under a professional's supervision, fills prescriptions as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines, and preparing all drugs within OSHA
    guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
  • Checks drugs monthly for outdate and other quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • Maintains proper control documentation of medications, including lot numbers.
  • Complete inventory control of medications. Receives and shelves medications.
  • Assists lead admixture technician in ensuring that standard drug supplies are inadequate supply in all departments.
  • Prepare labels.
  • Files and prepares billing.
  • Performs efficient data entry into systems

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level experience in a pharmacy.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate is recommended unless required by state law.
  • Competencies:
  • Technical and Functional Experience: Possesses up-to-date knowledge of the profession and industry; regarded as an expert in the technical/functional area.
  • Adaptability: Handles day-to-day work challenges confidently; adjusts to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change; shows resilience in the face of constraints, frustrations, or adversity.
  • Sound Judgment: Makes timely, cost-effective, and sound decisions, even under conditions of uncertainty.
  • Work Commitment: Sets high performance standards; pursues aggressive goals and works efficiently to achieve them.
  • Quality Commitment: Emphasizes the need to deliver quality products and/or services; defines standards for quality and evaluates products, processes, and services against those standards; manages quality and improves efficiencies.

Physical Demands:

  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to read and note appropriate measurements.
  • Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods.
  • Occasionally lifts and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
