Job Description: We're seeking a full-time experienced Director of Pharmacy to join our team at Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, GA. The ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates strong leadership skills, problem-solving skills, and a strategic vision for improving patient care and operational efficiency. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Working under the supervision of our Pharmacy Management team as well as Hospital Administration, fulfills all legal and regulatory requirements, including evaluation, selection, procurement and distribution of drugs, counseling and professional consultation.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as policies of the hospital and PharmD on Demand.
  • Interprets physician medication orders.
  • Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals and related products for patient care by performing related duties.
  • Responsible for supervising all onsite staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
  • Ability to represent the hospital and PharmD on Demand in a positive and professional manner; ability to maintain customer confidentiality at all times; ability to comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices; ability to exercise judgment; ability to interact with all types of people; ability to maintain remain professional in all situations; ability to use time effectively.
  • Utilizes pharmaceutical equipment to include automated dispensing machines, Laminar Flow Hoods and compounding equipment.
  • Responsible for overseeing restock, maintenance management, contract renewals, etc. for automated dispensing machines
  • P & T committee requirements as indicated per policy
  • Med Exec committee policy as indicated per policy and hospital expectations
  • Maintenance of all applicable accreditations and licenses
  • Responsible for quality improvement initiatives as requested by the hospital and per policy
  • Having a willingness to make changes to processes to improve efficiency and ultimately provide clinical support for patients
  • Identify processes for improvements
  • Responsible for all order entry during hours of operation and clinical patient reviews
  • Responsible for Chargemaster upkeep
  • Responsible for Formulary management both perpetually and in the EHR system
  • Responsible for all things related to clinical informatics in and regarding the pharmacy department
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
  • Works cooperatively with the remote pharmacists and responds to requests in a timely manner

Position Requirements:
  • Current Pharmacist licensure in applicable state(s)
  • Managerial experience
