Manager, New Business Development

Location:ย United States (Remote - National Territory)
Travel:ย ~40-50%

Overview

Synergy Bioscience is a Contract Research, Development, Testing, and Consulting Organization (CRO)ย supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies across the drug development lifecycle. We are seeking aย Manager of New Business Developmentย to lead commercial expansion across theย United States. This individual will drive new business opportunities for CRO services with biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. The right candidate must have expertise inย pharmaceutical development, analytical chemistry, microbiology testing, and regulatory compliance consulting, and a proven ability to partner with clients to accelerate product development and testing and ensure regulatory readiness.ย 

This is aย high-impact role responsible for identifying strategic partnerships, managing the full sales cycle, and expanding national revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Develop and execute aย national business development strategyย targeting biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies.
  • Identify and secure new clients requiringย analytical testing, pharmaceutical development, microbiology testing, and regulatory consulting services.
  • Manage theย full sales cycle,ย including prospecting, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Build relationships withย R&D, CMC, Quality, and Regulatory leadersย within target organizations.
  • Represent the company atย industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Strategic Account Development

  • Establish and grow relationships withย emerging biotech, mid-size pharma, and device companies.
  • Expand services within existing client accounts.
  • Partner with internal scientific teams to translate client needs intoย technical solutions and proposals.

Market Intelligence

  • Track industry trends withinย drug development, analytical testing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide competitive intelligence and market insights to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for new service offerings or expansion areas.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely withย scientists, laboratory leadership, and project management teamsย to ensure client success.
  • Support proposal development and pricing strategy.
  • Assist in strategic partnerships and long-term client agreements.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degreeย in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of business development experienceย within:
    • CRO
    • CDMO
    • Analytical testing labs
    • Pharmaceutical development services
  • Demonstrated success selling services such as:
    • Analytical chemistry
    • Microbiology testing
    • Pharmaceutical development
    • Regulatory consulting
  • Strong network withinย biotech/pharma R&D or CMC organizations.
  • Proven ability toย generate new revenue and close complex service deals.
