Description

Patient Access Representative-

  • Data collection and accurate input into the hospital registration system
  • Obtains signatures on all appropriate forms and issues all required notices to the patient or appropriate family member
  • Verifies insurance, identifies certification requirements, and obtains them when necessary. Notifies appropriate supervisory personnel if patient present for services and authorization is required but not on file
  • Calculates estimated amount due and request payment using the hospital approved scripts
  • Accurate and thorough documentation of pertinent events regarding the handling of the account, including researching prior accounts
  • Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences
  • Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required. The ability to interpret medical terminology required.

Experience:

One to two years of clerical skills required. Insurance verification and hospital or medical experience preferred

Additional Skills/Abilities:

Excellent customer service skills required. Computer experience required
