Job description

Job Summary

A leading medical facility is seeking a detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the Human Resources team in Yonkers, NY. This role is ideal for an HR professional with experience in leave administration, employee onboarding, HR operations, and employee support within a fast-paced healthcare or corporate environment.  This role is onsite, Monday-Friday.

The HR Leave Assistant will assist with leave-related processes, maintain accurate employee records, respond to employee inquiries, and provide administrative support to ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, Paid Family Leave (PFL), ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, and other employee leave requests
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
  • Assist employees with leave-related questions and required paperwork
  • Track leave status updates and ensure timely follow-up with employees and management
  • Coordinate with HR team members, managers, and employees regarding leave requests and approvals
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and HR records
  • Enter and update information within HR systems and databases
  • Support onboarding and general HR administrative functions as needed
  • Assist with front desk coverage and employee inquiries when required
  • Perform additional HR support duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources, Leave Administration, Benefits, or HR Assistant experience
  • Experience supporting FMLA, PFL, ADA, Workers' Compensation, or related leave programs preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently after training
