Job description

Duties Description The Broker Relations Representative supports our mission by managing a segment of our independent agencies, brokerages, and aggregators. The primary mission is to build deep broker relationships, educate the market on NYSIF's underwriting appetite, and secure a high volume of profitable workers' compensation and disability submissions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Portfolio Management: Make outbound calls and/or meetings with independent insurance brokers within the assigned portfolio.

Relationship Building: Serve as the main point of contact for brokers to resolve issues and elevate NYSIF's brand. Pipeline Development: Identify and source new business opportunities by aligning NYSIF's underwriting appetite with broker pipelines. Product Education: Train brokers on NYSIF systems, workers' compensation products, and Disability/Paid Family Leave benefits.

Performance Tracking: Meet KPIs regarding monthly broker call frequencies, quote submission rates, and premium targets. Market Expansion: Prospect and appoint new brokerages to expand NYSIF's market share beyond traditional sectors. Data Analysis: Review local premium data, loss ratios, and renewal metrics.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 6 years' experience within the New York insurance market, specifically regarding Workers' Compensation, Disability Benefits, and Paid Family Leave (PFL); OR Associates degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field and 4 years' experience within the New York insurance market, specifically regarding Workers' Compensation, Disability Benefits, and Paid Family Leave (PFL); OR Bachelors degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field and 2 years' experience within the New York insurance market, specifically regarding Workers' Compensation, Disability Benefits, and Paid Family Leave (PFL). Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record of participating on and contributing in a fast paced, cross-functional team with production deadlines. Demonstrated experience of learning and establishing new and creative ideas.
