Job description

CJB Pest & Mosquito Control is a three-generation family-owned and operated pest control company. With over 100 years.  We provide top-notch customer service because we care, and we are a family-oriented company.  Join a supportive team and experience what it means to work for a respected local family owned business.  We offer training to help increase earnings through upsells, marketing to nearby homes, and performance bonuses. 

Experience is preferred, but not necessary.  We mentor from beginning to end, providing all study materials for your state certification and on-the-job guidance until you are confident in your skill set. *State Certification study materials will be provided immediately after hire if necessary. 
 
Residential Pest Control technicians wanted for full-time positions throughout Metro-Detroit. Prioritized and thoughtful scheduling of work routes close to your home (when possible). While servicing the Tri-Country Area of Metro Detroit as well as parts of Genesee county (Brighton, Howell) and Livingston County (Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dexter, Saline)  
Office staff assign and schedule in-house appointments and commercial stops. You do not have to call customers nor create your own schedule. 
Critical Thinking skills are a must for solving pesky Pest Problems. A strong work ethic is valued! Respecting our environment and keeping your equipment clean and in good working condition is also part of your work day. Lastly, while on-site you will need to communicate directly with homeowner, and keep thorough clear notes for the home office paperwork. 
We will provide the following: 
  • Thorough training program and employee manual detailing all services rendered and treatment techniques for you to keep with you on the job and ongoing Field Training 
  • Quality Company vehicle (can be taken home) Do not need to come into office daily 
  • Employee of the month program (for new employees AND experienced technicians- $$ Bonus and time off) 
  • Uniforms (pants/shirts, hoodie, hats) 
  • Scheduled lunch breaks (if wanted) 
  • Company social events 
Non-Certified applicants will be trained to pass the State of Michigan Pesticide Technician exam to become certified (company pays for this). We do ask that you have at least 1 year experience working outside, or in "service" jobs where you have dealt with customers face to face. 
Job Description:
  • Treating interior and exterior of homes for elimination & prevention of insects. General Crawling insects; stinging insects such as wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets; Roaches, Fleas, Bed Bugs, and Pantry pests  
  • Mosquito and tick control treatments to properties 
  • Exterior Rodent Control 
  • You will also be trained for exterior and interior inspections of homes on how to prevent future pest problems 
If you have any experience in the following fields, you are more likely to make additional money: 
  • Interior Rodent Control (Mice) 
  • minor wildlife removal (animal trapping/birds/bats). 
  • Handyman experience - Pest-Proofing repair work (caulking, flashing, screening vents, etc.) 
Training includes in-office education, ride-a long's with techs, review of all services provided by management, and an Employee Service Manual . 
  • Base Hourly Pay + Sales Commissions (no limit) 
  • Overtime pay 
  • Medical Insurance (after 3 months of employment)
  • ASSURITY (Supplemental) insurance optional plans (Similar to AFLAC)  
  • Bi-Weekly Pay Days (Fridays) 
  • Gas Card, and Mobile Tablet 
  • Performance Bonus (Revenue Goals, Employee KPI Metrics)  
  • Attendance Bonus 
All necessary equipment is provided. We have the most updated equipment (safety equipment also) 
Weekly check out (Monday or Tuesday Morning at office) to receive materials needed for week and turning in payments or any additional paperwork. You will also be required to keep your truck cleaned and organized. (Inspection by management at each weekly “check out” We provide a tablet and easy-to-use software to document work. GPS is also in the software. 
Will mainly be working solo, but will be working with other techs or teams on larger jobs. 
Most treatment does not require more than ground level working and minimal ladder work, BUT, in some cases, you will require a ladder to inspect or treat certain areas.  
Monday-Friday then rotating Saturdays (1-2 per month) during the busy season. IF you cannot work specific Saturday's, we can adjust your schedule. After peak season, Saturday work is Optional. 
Must have good driving record and pass a background check. 
We give our techs ample time to complete jobs and do not rush them. Good work environment and no working late nights.
