Job description

Overview
As a LifeWise Classroom Assistant, you will support the LifeWise teacher in the classroom and develop positive relationships with students. Your role is crucial to provide an engaging, meaningful and organized classroom experience. Although the responsibilities of the classroom assistant mirror those of a program volunteer, the classroom assistant is a paid position.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the LifeWise teacher (as needed and directed)
    • Gather, distribute and organize supplies
    • Make copies and prep activities
    • Participate in class games, activites and discussions
    • Keep track of attendance records and other administrative tasks
  • Help with classroom management (as needed and directed)
    • Support the LifeWise teacher with redirection for disruptive students
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
    • Provide guidance for students during class activities, assignments and transitions
    • Serve students with special needs or those requiring extra support
  • Model positive behavior
    • Strive to model godly character
    • Display enthusiasm for lessons and activities
    • Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
  • Develop relationships with students
    • Learn the students' names
    • Follow-up with students' stories, interests, prayer requests, etc.
  • Chaperone children to and from their LifeWise classes (as needed)
  • Complete the Classroom Volunteer training
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
  • A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
  • Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the "What We Believe" section of the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
