Position Summary

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the engineering team in the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, and products. This role ensures operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance with industry standards while driving innovation and supporting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical staff
  • Oversee product design, tooling development, and process engineering activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues
  • Ensure designs and processes meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, including timelines and budgets
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
  • Implement lean manufacturing and process optimization strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and automation opportunities
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and product design
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering documentation

Preferred:

  • Experience in metal manufacturing, machining, or brass/aluminum production
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001
