You will be the Senior Sustainment Engineer supporting life cycle cost estimating, affordability analysis, and sustainment strategy development. Our team is responsible for ensuring systems remain affordable, supportable, and operationally effective throughout their entire lifecycle by developing logistics solutions, evaluating sustainment costs, and identifying opportunities to improve long-term support outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Sustainment Engineer, you will serve as the sustainment, life cycle cost, operations and support, and affordability engineer responsible for supporting the development and execution of sustainment and logistics support strategies. You'll play a critical role in evaluating the affordability and effectiveness of system support solutions from development through fielding, operations, maintenance, and long-term depot sustainment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing logistics analysis, including level of repair analysis, life cycle cost modeling, operations and support cost analysis, and affordability assessments.
Developing product support strategies that balance operational effectiveness, maintainability, supportability, and lifecycle affordability.
Executing trade studies, cost analysis, and sustainment evaluations to support program decisions and long-term support planning.
Supporting logistics management activities, including risk evaluation, issue tracking, reporting, and technical recommendations to program leadership and customers.
Collaborating with internal teams and customer stakeholders on logistics, maintenance, and maintainability demonstrations.
Establishing and managing subcontracts related to logistics, sustainment engineering scope, and product support deliverables.
Supporting test equipment and support equipment development to ensure systems can be properly operated, maintained, repaired, and sustained.
Supporting the creation and review of system maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and training products.
Working cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, suppliers, field support, depot operations, and program management teams to improve sustainment readiness and lifecycle performance.
Supporting continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing ownership cost, improving operational availability, and strengthening long-term mission readiness.
