Catering/Banquet Staff (Part-Time)
Position Summary - Banquet Server

The PT Catering/Banquet Server is responsible for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to our Company standards.
This position reports to the Event Catering Captain, in addition to the Food & Beverage Lead with direct report to the Catering and Events Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Know how to read the Banquet Event Order (BEO) be familiar with the menu of the assigned function and be able to give accurate descriptions.
  • Serve guests according to PERAโ€™s standards in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and ensuring that others are acting safely.
  • Maintain the banquet prep area in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with any and all appropriate supplies necessary for food service functions.
  • Clean up banquet space after the completion of the function and ensure that all equipment and supplies are stored and re-stocked properly.
  • Able to wash dishes, polish, and put away glassware and flatware.
  • Prepare room according to BEO and the various meal functions.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Attend all Service Training Meetings as requested.
  • Wear a clean and neat uniform that follows Company standards daily.
  • Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents. Communicate to management, if necessary.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in previous Food and Beverage or a related field preferred.
  • Food Handler as required by State and City.
  • Flexible and long hours are sometimes required. Available for morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift.
  • You are comfortable working in both indoor and occasional outdoor environments.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Other Details:
  • All shifts are available including morning.
  • $15.15 PLUS TIPS.

We are an 83 acre Recreational Facility for SRP employees and their guests. PERA has been in business for more than 65 years. In 2019 we built a brand new facility that includes meetings rooms, an employee store, fitness center, a bar, and full service kitchen for catering events.
