Job description

You do not need a CDL to apply. Forest Lake Area Schools will train you, license you and pay you while you learn. Mornings and afternoons, guaranteed hours and medical and dental coverage on a part time schedule.

We train you from zero. Classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel practice, and every licensing and training fee covered by the district. 

Salary and Benefits:

  • $21.15 – $24.50 per hour depending on experience.
  • Family-friendly – Save on daycare costs—children 3 years and older can ride with you!
  • Local and part-time (no nights or weekends).
  • Great benefits – Regular bus drivers are eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, paid holidays, and retirement (PERA). Benefits start after training.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Uphold the district’s commitment to student safety, care, and community.
  • Operate and maintain district vehicles in accordance with state and district regulations.

Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Clean driving record and background history.
  • Ability to pass a school bus physical and drug screening or current MN DOT card.

Location & Shift Times:

  • Transportation Center, 207 NW 6th Ave, Forest Lake, MN 55025.
  • Morning route: 5:45 am - 9:30 am. Afternoon route 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
