A Per Diem Medical Coding job is a flexible, as-needed position where a medical coder reviews and assigns standardized codes to diagnoses and procedures for billing and documentation purposes. This position is ideal for experienced coders seeking flexibility without a full-time commitment.

You may be expected to meet productivity and accuracy standards similar to full-time staff, and the ability to quickly adapt to new workflows or documentation systems is important. While most of the work is independent, you may collaborate with healthcare providers or other coders to clarify documentation or resolve discrepancies.
