Per diem nurses fill staffing gaps, cover for absent staff, or help during times of high patient census. They have the flexibility to choose their shifts and often work in various departments within the hospital system. While they may not receive the same benefits as full-time employees, per diem RNs typically earn a higher hourly wage to compensate for the lack of guaranteed hours and benefits.

How much does AdventHealth pay RN?

The pay for an RN at AdventHealth varies based on experience, location, and shift, but typically ranges from $25 to $40 per hour for per diem positions. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), medication safety protocols, and hospital equipment is typically required. Flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to quickly adapt to different teams and units are standout soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure high-quality, consistent patient care despite varying assignments and shifting hospital needs.

How does working as a Per Diem RN at AdventHealth differ from a full-time nursing position in terms of workload and scheduling?

As a Per Diem RN at AdventHealth, you have greater flexibility in choosing your shifts, which allows you to balance work with personal commitments or other employment. Per Diem nurses typically need to adapt quickly to different units or teams and may face the challenge of acclimating to new environments frequently. While you may not have the same benefits as full-time staff, this role still offers valuable clinical experience and the opportunity to build professional relationships across departments.
