Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing various therapeutic modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments that evaluate clients' mental health, emotional state, and readiness for change, using standardized tools as well as clinical judgment.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, fostering an environment of trust and empowerment.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services effectively when clients face acute psychological distress, ensuring their safety and providing immediate support.
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources to enhance their understanding and support systems.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of client progress, treatment plans, and follow-up actions in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work primarily involves supporting a diverse clientele facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, family conflicts, trauma, and substance use issues. You will collaborate with clients from various backgrounds, allowing you to bring your cultural competence and understanding of different life experiences to your practice.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all aspects of practice.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective client relationships and teamwork.
  • A strong capacity for problem-solving and critical thinking, essential for assessing client needs and formulating treatment strategies.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 75,000 and 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
