Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to clients’ specific needs.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to evaluate mental and emotional health, utilizing standardized tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with client goals and needs, with regular evaluations to adapt strategies as necessary.
  • Provide crisis intervention services; respond effectively to emergencies by employing de-escalation techniques and offering immediate support.
  • Deliver education and resources to clients and their families, ensuring they have the tools and information necessary for recovery and coping.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards, using our electronic health records system to ensure timely documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and other counselors, to provide coordinated, holistic care for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work primarily with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Our clients come from various socio-economic backgrounds, which enriches the therapeutic process and requires a culturally informed and adaptable approach to counseling.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Connecticut.
  • Extensive knowledge of therapeutic methodologies and best practices in mental health counseling.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with clients.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, adept at developing effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice standards.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Preferred Experience
  • Professional experience working with clients who have complex socio-emotional issues.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
  • Experience in crisis management and intervention.
  • A background in community mental health settings is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 75,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
