Job description

About the team + role

We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world's biggest financial problems. We're looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn't a place for complacency, it's where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We're a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards.

The People Systems team builds and operates the technology that supports Robinhood's employees across their entire lifecycle. The team focuses on Workday and connected systems, ensuring reliable operations, strong data quality, and scalable solutions for a growing global workforce. You will work closely with partners across HR, Engineering, Finance, and Legal to deliver systems that support hiring, onboarding, payroll, and compliance.

As a People Systems Manager, you will lead the design, development, and operation of Robinhood's People Systems ecosystem with Workday as the foundation. You will contribute directly to system configuration, integrations, and architecture while guiding a team of engineers and analysts. This role also focuses on applying AI tools and automation to reduce manual processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance employee support. You will help define how AI is applied within People Systems to improve efficiency and scalability!

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected 5 days per week.

At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams.

What you'll do
  • Own and evolve Robinhood's core People Systems with Workday as the foundation - driving configuration, integrations, Extend development, and architectural decisions.
  • Lead as a hands-on technical manager: you write, review, and ship alongside your team rather than delegating from a distance.
  • Actively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery - and set the standard for AI-augmented workflows on your team.
  • Design and build AI-powered automations and agents that reduce manual HR operations, improve data quality, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Build and maintain integrations across the People tech stack - deep ownership of EIB-based integrations required, Workday Studio experience strongly preferred.
  • Prototype and productionize AI capabilities embedded in HR workflows (e.g. intelligent routing, document processing, conversational HR interfaces).
  • Drive major initiatives including vendor and worker management systems, Workday enhancements, and Workday Extend investments.
  • Support international growth and M&A by enabling scalable People systems for new geographies.
  • Establish a long-term People Systems roadmap that is AI-first - not AI-curious - balancing near-term operational needs with a bold future-state architecture.
  • Maintain a high bar for data quality, security, privacy, and compliance across all People systems.
  • Lead and grow a distributed team of FTEs and contractors, building strong technical ownership and accountability.
What you bring
  • 7+ years of progressive People Systems or HRIS experience, including 2+ years managing technical teams.
  • 4+ years of hands-on Workday experience with strong technical depth across Core HCM, integrations, and Extend.
  • Demonstrated use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot - we'll ask you to walk us through projects where these tools changed how you work.
  • Proven experience building AI agents, automations, or LLM-powered workflows - side projects, internal tools, and production systems all count.
  • Deep experience building and supporting Workday integrations; EIB required, Workday Studio strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse and/or Ashby.
  • Strong cross-functional partnership skills across HR, Engineering, Finance, and Legal.
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments - you make decisions with incomplete information and iterate quickly.
  • A portfolio or track record of shipped AI projects: describe what you built, what tools you used, and what impact it had.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward action and measurable outcomes.
Leadership expectations

Our ambitious roadmap requires a great culture shaped by exceptional leaders. Here's what we expect from them:

  • Drive high performance by setting clear, focused goals, giving real-time feedback, stretching top talent, and scaling impact through focus, innovation, and tech.
  • Hire and retain top talent by setting a high bar, hiring only those who raise it, investing in onboarding, and addressing talent issues quickly and fairly.
  • Create community by connecting work to purpose, removing friction while prioritizing safety, building trust and inclusion, and leading from the front with integrity.
What we offer
  • Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career.
  • Performance-driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching.
  • Best-in-class benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents.
  • Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more.
  • Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits.
  • Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more!
  • Exceptional office experience with catered meals, events, and comfortable workspaces.
