We are looking for a People Operations Manager to join the team and be an integral part of a growing company.
The People Operations Manager will own the human resources function and be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position reports directly to the VP of Finance & Operations, will collaborate closely with a People Strategy and Development lead and will be an integral part of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, total rewards, employee relations, compliance, HR technology and systems, as well as supporting onboarding and performance management functions.
This is a full-time in-office role based in DC.
Responsibilities:
- Build and enforce a consistent policy framework from handbook to day-to-day practice that scales with the company
- Own total rewards, including benefits design, optimization and administration, compensation review, and job hierarchy
- Own employee relations serving as the primary point of contact for sensitive employee situations, investigations, PIPs, corrective action, and separations, ensuring consistent and compliant handling
- Own the HR tech stack; including evaluating, implementing, and maintaining systems supporting benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and people data ensuring data integrity and employee experience
- Research, recommend and maintain internal compliance policies; including pay, benefits, Workers Comp, FMLA and leave
- Support the People Strategy and Development lead in execution of onboarding, performance management, and professional development
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with exposure to building the HR or People function, ideally with a fast growth start-up
- Experience in employee engagement and relations with a passion for expanding and leveling-up teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with executives and individuals at all levels
- Experience with HR technology, including HRIS, ATS, Performance Management and L&D systems
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and work in an ever-changing fast paced and dynamic environment
- SHRM or HRCI certification desired, but not required
