Job description

Location: Overland Park, KS (Kansas City Metro)
Employment Type: Full-time, In-Office
Department: Operations
Compensation: Top of market base salary + equity in a fast-growing company

Steadily is hiring a People Operations Manager to own and lead the internal people function at Steadily. This is a high-impact role for someone who can operate independently, build scalable systems, and confidently support a fast-growing business without requiring a lot of oversight or structure already in place.

This is not a traditional HR coordinator or support role. You will be the primary owner of day-to-day People Operations and will work closely with leadership to keep the company organized, compliant, and operating smoothly as we scale.

We move quickly, hire aggressively, and expect a high level of ownership. The right person is operationally sharp, highly resourceful, calm under pressure, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

You’ll report directly to the Director of Talent and partner closely with the Chief Operating Officer and company leadership across every department.

What You’ll Do

Own the People Operations function – Run the day-to-day HR side of the business; employee relations, performance support, compliance, leave administration, accommodations, documentation, investigations, and employee lifecycle management.

Partner with leadership – Work closely with managers and executives to navigate employee situations, improve accountability, and help teams operate well as the company grows. Help maintain a high-performance culture where strong people enjoy working hard together.

Build scalable processes – Create structure where needed. Improve onboarding, workflows, documentation, policies, and internal processes so the company can scale without becoming chaotic.

Own benefits administration - Help employees get enrolled, answer questions, coordinate open enrollment, and support renewals with brokers and vendors.

Be the internal IT first line - Set up laptops, troubleshoot common issues, coordinate vendors when needed, and keep people productive.

Manage licensing and renewals - Own licensing for team members who need it. Build systems to track renewals, continuing education, and deadlines so nothing slips.

Run the office well - Keep the office stocked, organized, and functioning. Snacks, supplies, vendor coordination, catering, furniture, general upkeep; all the details that make the office work.

Support leadership - Be a trusted operator for founders and leaders. Spot issues early, keep things moving, and help create order.

Help scale the culture - Be a culture carrier. Help create a workplace where strong people enjoy showing up, working hard, and winning together.

What You Bring

Strong HR / People Ops experience – 5+ years in HR, People Operations, HRBP, or similar roles. Ideally in a fast-growing company where you had to move quickly and wear multiple hats.

High ownership – You can run the HR function with minimal oversight. You’re comfortable making judgment calls, solving problems, and building processes from scratch. You notice what needs attention and take care of it.

Operationally sharp – Highly organized, detail-oriented, and good at managing competing priorities. You handle sensitive situations with professionalism, maturity, and discretion.

Tech savvy - You’re highly comfortable with computers, software, and systems. Setting up laptops and troubleshooting common issues does not intimidate you.

Highly organized - You build systems, stay ahead of deadlines, and keep track of many moving parts without dropping balls.

Low ego, high hustle - You’re excited to join a growing company, work hard, and grow quickly with it.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Top of market compensation + meaningful equity

  • 3 weeks PTO + 6 federal holidays

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance

  • HSA + FSA options

  • 401(k)

  • Strong in-office culture with team lunches and stocked office

Location

Overland Park, KS (Kansas City Metro)

This is a full-time, in-office role. We believe in building together in person. Our office is a big part of how we move quickly, collaborate well, and keep momentum high.

Why Join Steadily
  • Good company. Our founders have three successful startups under their belt and have recruited a stellar team to match.

  • Top compensation. We pay at the top of the Kansas City market (see comp).

  • Growth opportunity: We’re an early-stage, fast-growing company where you’ll wear a lot of hats and shape product decisions.

  • Strong backing. We’re growing fast, we manage over $20 billion in risk, and we’re exceptionally well-funded.

  • Culture: Steadily boasts a very unique culture that our teammates love. We call it like we see it and we’re nothing if not candid. Plus, we love to have a good time. Check out our culture deck to learn what we’re all about.

  • Awards: We've been recognized both locally and nationally as a top place to work. Recently we were ranked 16th on Forbes' 2026 Best Startup Employers list, and 63rd on the prestigious Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list. We've also been recognized as one of the Best Landlord Insurance Companies in 2026 by CNBC, a Top 2025 Startup in Newsweek, in Investopedia's Best Landlord Insurance Companies, and we won Austin Business Journal's Best Places to Work in 2025.

We’re excited to meet you!
