The Opportunity

As a dedicated Pega Software Engineer, you will work within defined guidelines and frameworks to support the Enterprise by developing, configuring, testing, and maintaining solutions for the Complaints Pega application. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver reliable technology solutions that support complaint processes across Bank, Life, Property and Casualty, and Member Relation

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions.
  • Investigates and resolves complex application and system technical problems and production issues through troubleshooting techniques.
  • Continually improves operations by conducting complex systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and installs complex solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
  • Follows the software development lifecycle.
  • Participates in design reviews and learns key system design principles.
  • Mentors junior engineers and may begin mentoring peer engineers; Review teammates' code.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • 4 years of software development experience specific to Pega Development.
  • 2 years of experience delivering technology solutions in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle.
  • CSSA Certification
  • Basic Understanding of one or more of the following: Java, Go, SQL, Pega.
  • Knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting applications and systems within production issues.
  • Ability to quickly understand applicable business acumen to provide appropriate Engineering solutions.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.

What sets you apart:

  • US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner
  • Experience with REST integrations
  • Certified Lead System Architect (LSA)

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770.00 - $179,240.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
