Senior Pega Developer

Job Description:

AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. ("AEGIS") has an immediate opening for a Senior Application Developer, Pega responsible for identifying, evaluating, and introducing new technologies and applications in line with the company's technology strategy and roadmap. The Senior Application Developer, Pega, in conjunction with the Architects and the Chief Enterprise Architect, partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives and meet the needs of the company's mission and vision. Works as a part of the development teams providing support to new/existing systems of high complexity and scope. The Senior Application Developer, Pega is responsible for fully understanding the Pega application environment and perform application design for all applications within the team.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of Pega development experience with experience evaluating, developing, and implementing complex software systems
  • Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex solutions
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer or Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking for problem resolution and process development
  • Possess a solid understanding of problem resolution, application monitoring and troubleshooting, including basic knowledge of network principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, applications, and systems engineering
  • Ability to translate business needs into efficient technology solutions
  • Strong project management and organization skills

Essential Job Functions:

Planning and Strategy

  • Introduce technology in support of the long-term strategic roadmap for IT systems
  • The systems architect partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions not only align with the company's overall objectives, but also ensures that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the needs of the company's mission and vision
  • Seamlessly integrate business and service strategy into enterprise architecture roadmap

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Support the Chief Enterprise Architect's efforts to develop and maintain policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology infrastructure and processes in the industry and marketplace
  • Support, resolve and document issues that arise in the architecture. This may include reviewing designs and recommending improvements to the architecture
  • Share / leverage successful products, processes, and best practices across the technology organization

Project and Program Management

  • Lead the design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
  • Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of vendor software and tools

Meeting Facilitation and Presentation

  • Coordinate training and provides leadership/guidance to team members; Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the software product, tools, and techniques utilized, employing them with a high level of proficiency
  • Develop secure coding & secure design principles and train developers on secure coding practices

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct technical research, testing, evaluation and documentation of routine hosting/configuration tools and methodologies to ensure that tools are current and functional
  • Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes. Analyzes capacity data and develops capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems
  • Monitor application logs and alerts to ensure system health and optimal use of resources
