Job description

Salary: 20.00

OBJECTIVE

To promote an atmosphere of welcome and warmth to Tennis Club members and their guests by maintaining high standards and delivering excellent customer service. You will be the first and last face they see as they come and go from the Club.


CORE FUNCTIONS

Reception

  • Greet guests as they arrive and acknowledge them as they depart
  • Direct new guests to important areas throughout the Club (bathrooms, gym, dining, pool, etc.) and help coordinate a guided tour with an MOD or the Director
  • Answer the telephone
  • Resolve guest inquiries & field complaints, escalating to the Director as necessary
  • Manage member accounts including membership sales & process payments as needed
  • Assist executive team in sending Club communications, including marketing and promotions through the website, Google business page, and social media accounts

Reservations & Events

  • Assist members with court reservations (new bookings, changes, cancellations, etc.)
  • Coordinate Tennis Pro court scheduling for lessons/clinics
  • Monitor Clubspot system throughout the day to proactively address booking errors
  • Assist in planning, development, & execution of all member events & tournaments, including attending such events

Hospitality

  • Promote new bar/grill menus and specials to drive member interest and raise revenues
  • Serve alcoholic drinks and maintain adequate levels in the snack bar/drink fridge
  • Maintain active Food Handlers, Food Manager, & TABC certifications
  • Ensure proper daily setup of Club facilities by completing the opening & closing checklists each day
  • Confirm cleanliness of Club reception/dining areas with hourly walk-throughs, ensuring all areas are sanitized & free of hazards, such as loose/overflowing trash, water on the floor or counters, dust or dirt, bugs, fingerprints on windows, etc.
  • Maintain organization of Club front desk area. Supplies and inventory items should be stored safely in an organized manner & any displayed items should be presented as fully stocked and neatly arranged
  • Maintain regular communication with the maintenance team to identify urgent maintenance concerns
  • Maintain Pro Shop organization and presentation

Technology Skills

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and general familiarity with PC computers. Additionally, experience with the Google suite of products (gmail, g-chat, g-cal, etc.) is highly preferred. Ability to learn new software and quickly "find your way around" on a computer is crucial to learning our court booking and membership management software.


Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak English effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Physical Demands

This position requires standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding/carrying, twisting/turning, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and sitting. Employee will have the ability to lift at least fifty (25) pounds on a consistent basis. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy.

SCHEDULE

The standard schedule for this position will include nights and weekends.


Additional Notes

Additional shifts may be assigned as needed, depending on the Companys event schedule, Company holidays, or staff absences. This position will also require night and/or weekend work and picking up/swapping shifts.
