Overview

UIC Government Services (UICGS) is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Team in Springfield, VA. This role is ideal for candidates with Deltek Time & Expense and Deltek Costpoint experience.

UIC Government Services and its Bowhead Family of Companies are subsidiaries of Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation. Known collectively as Bowhead, we are a leading ANC with nearly 25 years of experience providing premier support to defense and civilian government agencies across the United States and around the world. Bowhead employs more than 4,000 professionals dedicated to operational excellence and mission success.

Responsibilities

Report to the Payroll Manager under the daily direction of the Payroll Supervisor Maintain, collect, and process employee timesheets using Deltek Time & Expense Support payroll processing, including verifying payroll data, calculating payrolls, reviewing payroll reports, and initiating employee payments Respond to employee inquiries and perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones, researching pay discrepancies, and reviewing tax agency notices Assist with responding to data requests from internal departments and government agencies Gain exposure to multiple payroll disciplines including payroll tax compliance, timekeeping, garnishments, audit support, and special projects Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to payroll Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School diploma

Bachelor's degree or equivalent payroll experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll or accounting department Experience with Deltek Time & Expense and Deltek Costpoint is required; experience with ADP Smart Compliance is a plus Strong knowledge of multi state, multi subsidiary payroll processes, including employment taxes, year end reporting, and payroll tax compliance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook Union/DBA/SCA payroll experience preferred Highly detail oriented, organized, and capable of problem solving and shifting priorities as needed Ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time

There are currently no security clearance requirements for this position, however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
