PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the construction industry to hire a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist. In this critical role, you'll ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting compliance with union payroll regulations and government reporting requirements. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting payroll operations for union employees by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service. Your responsibilities passionate about payroll, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy solving complex challenges, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

As a Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting payroll operations for union employees by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinate with field management to collect and review union new hire paperwork, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

Create and maintain union employee records in the ERP system, including employment status changes, severance, terminations, and disciplinary updates.

Review field time entry reports to identify and resolve discrepancies involving hours worked, union classifications, pay classes, and per diem before payroll processing.

Process weekly union payroll and off-cycle payrolls by importing and validating time data, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, garnishments, union liabilities, and taxes.

Prepare and reconcile monthly union remittances, submit payment requests, and ensure payments are made accurately to the appropriate benefit funds.

Generate payroll and compliance reports, verify data accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.

Respond promptly to employee and management inquiries related to union payroll.

Submit required new hire reports to state agencies.

Process child support orders and other court-ordered payroll deductions.

Support payroll compliance and maintain accurate business records.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

Minimum of three years of payroll experience.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
