The Job
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Primary responsibility of processing payroll and maintaining related records in addition performing and supporting in all phases of human resources activities by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Payroll
  • Prepare and process payroll information by compiling, calculating, and inputting weekly payroll data
  • Enters data into computer files.
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, 401K, and other benefit deductions for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions as required.
  • Keeps records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
  • Prepares and issue paychecks as needed.

Human Resource Functions
  • Records and updates employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.
  • Processes employment applications and assists in other employment activities.
  • Tracks and keeps record of vacation accrual.
  • Oversees annual benefit renewals, benefit rollouts and open enrollment process.
  • Handles on boarding of all new hires and insures all necessary new-hire paperwork is completed and received.
  • Responsible for Workers Comp administration and maintaining record of work related accidents and injuries.
  • Serves as go-to person for employees regarding HR matters

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3-years payroll / HR department experience
  • Ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with payroll software (UltiPro/UKG) a plus
  • Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and experience handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a team manufacturing environment.
  • Bi-lingual is preferred

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
