Payroll Specialist (Part-Time Contract)
Location: Camas, WA
Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote (One onsite day per week)
Duration: Approximately 4-Month Project
Schedule: 24 hours per week (flexible schedule across 3-5 days)

About Our Client
Our client is a growing manufacturing organization undergoing systems and process improvements within its payroll function. They are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to provide payroll support during a critical system transition while ensuring employees receive accurate and timely payroll services.
Position Overview
The Payroll Specialist will serve as a key member of the payroll team, providing day-to-day payroll processing support, assisting with system transitions, and acting as a backup resource for payroll administration. This role requires a hands-on professional who can quickly adapt, maintain accurate payroll records, and provide exceptional support to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support payroll processing activities and assist with payroll administration.
  • Serve as a backup resource to payroll leadership during payroll cycles and off-cycle payroll processing.
  • Assist with the transition to a new timekeeping and payroll system.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and payroll-related data.
  • Review payroll information for accuracy and compliance.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and managers.
  • Support payroll reporting and related accounting processes.
  • Assist with payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and provide support across payroll operations as needed.
Qualifications
Required
  • 2-5+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing practices, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms.
  • Understanding of payroll-related accounting processes and journal entries.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting payroll system implementations or conversions.
  • Experience with Paylocity, UKG, or similar payroll platforms.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
Pay Details: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
