Job description

Northwest Pump is seeking a Payroll Lead to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you'll oversee payroll operations across multiple companies and states while driving continuous improvement across our payroll function.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys solving complex payroll challenges, and takes pride in continuously improving processes. This is more than a payroll processing role; it's an opportunity to lead payroll operations, shape payroll systems and processes, and serve as the organization's payroll expert.

What are we looking for?
• Three or more years of progressively responsible payroll experience
• Experience processing multi-state payroll for multiple entities
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws
• Experience with prevailing wage payroll, certified payroll reporting, and applicable federal and state prevailing wage regulations (particularly California and Washington) preferred
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred)
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting payroll deadlines
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with employees, vendors, and leadership
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; self-motivated and dependable
• Committed to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
