Why We Need Your Talents:

The Payroll Manager will assist with the successful management of payroll personnel, maintaining payroll records, and keeping all records to casino employees scheduling profiles up to date.  They will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and or tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the Kronos Payroll system.
  • Assist in monitoring workload and evaluate direct reports and may review the evaluations/development plans of others
  • Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
  • Maintain an updated list of S.O.P's for the department
  • Optimizing and creating weekly department schedules aligning labor to department volume for business needs
  • Track department productivity daily and make staffing recommendations to department leaders
  • Observe departments to understand business volumes and staffing needs/opportunities
  • Prepare reports to supply to various departments
  • Aid and training to team members on the payroll program
  • Aiding team members with payroll inquiries
  • Meeting deadlines for payroll processing
  • Maintain team member confidence and protects payroll by keeping information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ability to handle complaints or questions regarding discrepancies
  • Assist Director to create annual team objectives.
  • Escalate potential service issues to Director.
  • Directs work within clear budgetary guidelines.
  • Participates in interview process for new hires.
  • Approve and process manual off-cycle checks.
  • Implement quality control measures.
  • Manage the bi-weekly payroll process.
  • Monitor daily time edits and assist in departmental training.
  • Manages and or prepares tax payments, w-2's, and other miscellaneous reports for distribution and/or payment i.e., payroll taxes, garnishment,
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Administer the Company's progressive disciplinary policy, including the policy as it relates to termination of employment.
  • In cases involving employee performance deficiencies, the Manager is expected to determine what steps to undertake with respect to the affected employees' performance deficiencies, including whether counseling or a step in progressive discipline is appropriate, and in the Manager's judgment and discretion.
  • In cases involving employee misconduct, the Manager is expected to investigate the potential misconduct and determine whether discipline is appropriate and if so what level of discipline is appropriate.
  • Prepare written reports and/or documentation relating to progressive discipline and/or counseling and is expected to meet with the employee to discuss concerns with the employee's performance or conduct.
  • Participates in meetings with higher-level management, including Departmental Directors and Vice Presidents as necessary.

  • Ability to use an AS400 system computer and Microsoft Office products, spreadsheets, and accounting software.
  • Must be Microsoft Office efficient, with a high concentration in Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll/timekeeping system. 
Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • A four (4)-year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience.
  • Must be able to comply with all state gaming regulations, which may include obtaining a license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak clearly, listen, and follow directions
  • Ability to lift up to 15-20 lbs.
  • Use of Stairs or elevators
