Description:

Takkion Ops Management is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Senior Payroll Analyst with expertise in prevailing wage and union payroll. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and processing payroll activities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of the company and supporting our employees. This role reports to the Senior Payroll Manager.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Payroll Processing:

  1. Accurately process weekly payroll for all employees, including prevailing wage and union payroll.
  2. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations and industry standards.
  3. Manage and process wage garnishments, deductions, and benefits.

Prevailing Wage Compliance:

  1. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of prevailing wage laws and regulations.
  2. Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of prevailing wages for applicable projects.
  3. Prepare, review and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Union Payroll Management:

  1. Administer union payroll in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
  2. Calculate and process union dues, benefits, and other withholdings.
  3. Liaise with union representatives to resolve payroll-related issues.

Reporting and Reconciliation:

  1. Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
  2. Perform regular payroll reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy.
  3. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation.

Employee Support:

  1. Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries in a timely professional manner.
  2. Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures to payroll team members.
  3. Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and other departments to support seamless payroll operations.
  4. Participate in cross-training initiatives to ensure team flexibility and continuity of payroll processes.
  5. Other duties as needed or assigned.


Requirements:

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on prevailing wage and union payroll
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
  • Experience with certified payroll reporting and union payroll processing preferred
  • Familiarity with Paylocity or similar payroll systems preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of are generally light and primarily aligned with office-based work unless visiting operational facilities/sites.

Specific requirements include:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or other digital devices.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
  • Occasional walking during on-site visits to different areas within the organization.
