Job description

A well-known construction company in the Seattle, WA area is partnering with LHH to search for a temporary to hire Payroll Analyst for their team. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of payroll processing experience in high-volume environments. This individual will be working closely with the payroll processing team to ensure that the weekly payroll is correct and to help with any discrepancies or to process payroll exceptions. You need to have strong communication skills as you will be dealing with employee inquiries and also be creating the process documents for the department. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving and challenging work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, taxes, deductions, and variances
  • Analyze exception reports and validate payroll prior to final processing
  • Process off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and retroactive pay
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including escalated employee inquiries
  • Audit and reconcile payroll and HRIS data to ensure consistency and completeness
  • Identify and correct data issues such as missing, duplicate, or misaligned records
  • Prepare payroll reports and support internal reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, including multi-state tax requirements
  • Document and update payroll procedures and workflows
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual effort
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2s and tax reconciliations
Qualifications
