Titan America is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate to join the Employee Services team at our Corporate Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, this salaried, non-exempt position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried payrolls for a multi-state workforce.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines. The Payroll Associate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service are essential. Occasional overtime may be required during payroll processing cycles or to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Process weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried payrolls accurately and on schedule.

Review and audit timekeeping records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to SOX requirements.

Support supervisors with Workforce Management (WFM) entries, payroll adjustments, and timekeeping inquiries.

Process employee pay changes, bonuses, severance payments, reimbursements, and off-cycle payrolls.

Review new hire, employee change, and termination documentation to ensure accurate payroll administration.

Administer garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, and other wage attachments in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including employee inquiries, tax issues, benefit deductions, and direct deposit exceptions.

Reconcile payroll data, validate payroll reports, and maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.

Prepare and distribute payroll reports and file transfers for Accounting, Benefits, internal stakeholders, and auditors.

Support union payroll administration, including dues and benefit reporting, audit requests, and coordination with Accounts Payable.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company payroll policies, internal controls, and SOX requirements.

Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and ongoing payroll and compliance training initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.

3-6 years of payroll experience required.

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs.

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Certified Payroll Professional Preferred

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while supporting a diverse internal customer base.
