Job description

Assured Excavating Inc., is seeking a hardworking and dependable Asphalt Laborer/Operator to join our team. The Asphalt Laborer/Operator will assist with the construction, repair, and maintenance of asphalt surfaces such as roads, driveways, and parking lots. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of surfaces for asphalt application, including grading and compacting.
  • Spread, rake, and smooth hot asphalt to ensure proper compaction and finish.
  • Operate hand tools and equipment such as shovels, rakes, tampers, and wheelbarrows.
  • Match and finish freshly made asphalt joints evenly
  • Level & adjust surface irregularities, restore surface finish, spread asphalt to proper grade and finish before compaction
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the paving crew to ensure smooth and efficient asphalt application.
  • Assist with traffic control as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements:

    • Previous experience in asphalt paving/operating, construction, or a related field is required.
    • Ability to work long hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as necessary.
    • Physically able to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including heat and cold.
    • Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
    • Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and a positive attitude.
