As we continue to grow, we're seeking hardworking, reliable team members to join our underground utilities crew.Position Summary
The Pipe Laborer supports the installation of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage. This position works closely with equipment operators and pipe layers to prepare trenches, handle materials, and ensure proper pipe installation and site cleanup.Responsibilities
  • Assist with installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drain).
  • Excavate and prepare trenches using hand tools and small equipment.
  • Measure, cut, and prepare pipe materials as directed.
  • Assist in setting and aligning pipe to proper grade and line.
  • Place, compact, and backfill materials around installed pipe.
  • Maintain trench safety and proper shoring/sloping per OSHA requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized; handle materials and tools safely.
  • Assist equipment operators and pipe layers as needed to meet daily production goals.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear proper PPE at all times.
Qualifications
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in construction or underground utilities preferred (will train the right candidate).
  • Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in and around trenches safely.
  • Willingness to learn and follow direction from foremen and pipe layers.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with underground utility installation.
  • Familiarity with trench boxes, grade stakes, and pipe materials (PVC, RCP, DIP).
