This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home, connecting with clients through virtual therapy sessions. Our outpatient office embraces a collaborative approach, utilizing state-of-the-art technology to facilitate seamless communication with clients and colleagues. You will be equipped with advanced electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to manage documentation and treatment progress efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations during preliminary interviews, ensuring accurate documentation from the initial consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health status, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs.
  • Develop comprehensive and individualized treatment plans that promote recovery for various demographic groups, including individuals, couples, and families.
  • Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions while employing evidence-based practices and the latest developments in psychotherapy.
  • Track and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to facilitate effective recovery.
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team, including therapists, physicians, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Recognize and mitigate behaviors that hinder recovery, providing ongoing support to families and caregivers managing related challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client base, encompassing a spectrum of mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to more complex emotional disturbances. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy and a nonjudgmental approach.
Preferred Experience
  • Preferred candidates will possess relevant experience as a mental health counselor, particularly within outpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records, specifically AVATAR, is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience working with clients facing physical health and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders.
  • An understanding of best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly desirable.
