SUMMARY

Sun & Ski Sports is going through an exciting creative revamp, and we are looking for a junior to mid level Visual Designer to help evolve the brand. The Visual Designer is part of a growing in-house Brand & Creative team who will develop creative-marketing materials for Sun & Ski Sports that elevates our brandโ€™s expertise, culture, product, and service offerings. You must show fluency in crafting engaging design, as well as production solutions for a variety of marketing media, including web, digital, print, video, and display advertising. Must have experience adhering to brand standards and provide a body of work showcasing creative and effective use of marketing concepts. The Visual Designer must think strategically to provide solutions in line with overall business objectives and priorities and must collaborate with designers, writers, and marketers to develop and push creative solutions. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager of Creative Production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design digital assets including email, social media, and website graphics, as well as store signage, out-of-home advertising, posters, and catalogs
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop assets that are on-strategy, on-brand, and consistent with current market positioning
  • Participate in strategy discussions and contribute creative solutions to push the brand forward
  • Follow design best practices and proactively suggest improvements to workflows and processes
  • Apply a customer-centered mindset to all decisions, keeping the customerโ€™s experience and well-being at the forefront
  • Stay current on outdoor and sports industry trends and emerging design techniques

REQUIRED:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an agency or in-house creative group
  • Strong modern typography, layout, pattern-making, and illustration skills
  • Social media savvy and follows trends in the outdoor and sport space
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign)
  • Practices excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adapts quickly to a changing work environment
  • Multitasks and delivers in a time-sensitive environment
  • Shows self-motivation and sets high personal standards


PREFERRED:

  • Basic motion graphics and video editing capabilities (After Effects, Premiere)
  • Experience with project management programs (Lytho, Asana)
  • Experience with modern website layouts and UI/UX best practices
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree
