Job description

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for promoting the sale of parts, service and rental within the branch and responding to customer needs for parts and/or service.

Essential Functions:

  • Sell parts and service to new and/or current customers in a territory to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives.
  • Strengthen relationships with established customers and build rapport with potential customers by ensuring customer satisfaction with products and/or services; including keeping customers informed of any changes affecting their equipment and/or business.
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products, services, competitor activities and market data.
  • Maintain detailed account profiles, prepare sales reports as required and complete all necessary paperwork, including call reports, expense and territory summaries and projections in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure credit applications are actively pursued prior to each sale, or a check is picked up in advance.
  • Assist manager in forecasting sales in assigned territory, including setting account targets for sale of parts, service and rental.
  • Enhance professional delivery by continuously increasing product and industry knowledge and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborate and knowledge share with various Doggett employees and departments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and multi-tasking skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and people development skills.
  • Strong financial focus, including cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision making and quantitative analysis.
  • Ability to assess customer patterns and adjust labor and branch focus accordingly.
  • Thorough knowledge of all systems, procedures, techniques, equipment, operations, standards and reports that apply to the location.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in transportation/logistics, field service, consumer products, wholesale distribution or supply chain management preferred.

Travel Requirements: As needed

Typical Physical Activity: Physical Demands consist of sitting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, standing, walking, typing, talking, hearing and traveling as needed. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
