POSITION SUMMARY: Tool Maker – Apprentice We are looking for an experienced Tool Maker to join our dynamic team in Gainesville, Texas. The Tool Maker, under limited supervision, performs a variety of operations to make and repair plastic injection molds.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:Assist Tool Makers with daily tooling workload to meet production demandsLearn and perform basic mold maintenance, including disassembly, cleaning, greasing, and reassembly of moldsAssist with troubleshooting and diagnosing tooling issues on the production floorSupport preventive maintenance activities and help track mold maintenance schedulesLearn machining processes including milling, grinding, lathe operations, EDM, and CNC machiningHelp remove stuck parts from molds and change over mold inserts as requiredAssist in fixture builds, repairs, and general tool room projectsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe environment within the tool roomParticipate in new tool start-ups and gain understanding of tool design and functionSupport inventory tracking of tooling supplies and spare partsFollow all company safety policies and standard operating proceduresComplete special projects and other duties as assigned by managementREQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalentTechnical school coursework in machining, manufacturing, or related field preferred (not required)Interest in machining, tooling, or mechanical tradesAbility to learn how to read blueprints and use inspection toolsStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailWillingness to receive hands-on training and instructionAbility to work in hot or cold temperature environments for extended periodsAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust use hands to handle tools, install components, and operate equipmentMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand English Compensation commensurate with experience along with excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision and life insurances, 401K plan and paid vacation.
