As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), you will be a key member of the practice team, partnering with physicians, managers, and support staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

As a Patient Service Representative (PSR), a typical day might include the following:

  • Welcoming patients and performing patient check-in and check-out functions with professionalism and compassion.
  • Preparing for patient visits by reviewing schedules and ensuring all necessary information is available.
  • Scheduling patient appointments and coordinating follow-up visits as needed.
  • Answering routine questions in person and over the telephone while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Performing clerical responsibilities including copying, scanning, faxing, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Creating, maintaining, filing, and organizing patient health record information.
  • Coordinating with insurance providers and handling pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
  • Protecting patient privacy and contributing to a safe, efficient, and welcoming practice environment.

Candidates must demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of patient satisfaction and safety and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, 1-2 years of previous medical receptionist or general office experience, and knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
