Position Summary

The Medical Front Office Patient Care Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients in a busy Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) medical practice. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while coordinating patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referrals, and front office operations. The coordinator helps ensure patients receive timely, compassionate, and efficient care throughout their visit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Relations & Customer Service

  • Greet and check in/check out patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments for office visits, procedures, and testing
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist patients with forms, intake paperwork, and portal access
  • Address patient concerns and escalate issues appropriately when needed

Front Office Operations

  • Verify demographic and insurance information accurately
  • Obtain referrals, authorizations, and insurance eligibility verification
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and payments at time of service
  • Maintain organized patient records and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) documentation
  • Process incoming faxes, referrals, and medical records requests
  • Coordinate communication between providers, patients, pharmacies, and outside offices

Qualifications
