Parttime Practice Manager information

Is practice manager a stressful job?

A practice manager role can be stressful due to responsibilities such as overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The level of stress often depends on the size of the practice, workload, and organizational support, but strong organizational and communication skills can help manage pressure effectively.

What is the difference between Parttime Practice Manager vs Medical Office Coordinator?

AspectParttime Practice ManagerMedical Office Coordinator

Search & Comparison IntentPeople comparing practice management roles with administrative support rolesIndividuals looking for administrative support positions in healthcare

The Parttime Practice Manager focuses on overseeing the entire healthcare practice, including staff management and operations, while the Medical Office Coordinator handles day-to-day administrative tasks like scheduling and patient communication. Both roles are essential in healthcare settings but differ in scope and responsibilities.

What jobs pay $2000 a day?

Some high-paying roles for practice managers or similar healthcare professionals can reach $2000 daily, especially in specialized or executive positions with extensive experience, certifications, and a strong client base. However, most practice managers typically earn less, and such high daily rates are more common in consulting, legal, or executive roles rather than standard practice management positions.

What qualifications do I need to be a practice manager?

To become a practice manager, relevant qualifications typically include a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field. Prior experience in healthcare or office management, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of healthcare regulations and billing systems are also important. Some roles may require professional certifications such as Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE).

What jobs make 10,000 a month without a degree?

A part-time practice manager typically does not earn $10,000 a month, as this level of income usually requires full-time roles or business ownership. However, some high-paying freelance or consulting roles in fields like digital marketing, sales, or real estate can reach this income level without a degree, especially with experience and strong client networks. These jobs often require skills, certifications, or entrepreneurial effort rather than formal education.

Job description

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) โ€” Part-Time, Autonomous Practice
Remote ยท Active Virginia PMHNP License Required ยท Independent Practice Only

We're looking for a part-time PMHNP in Virginia who can practice autonomously and wants to do it within a team that actually collaborates.

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults โ€” all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and Virginia's autonomous practice environment means we're looking specifically for PMHNPs who can practice independently โ€” no MD collaboration agreement required.

You'll still be part of an integrated care team alongside therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators. Autonomous doesn't mean alone. It means you bring the full scope โ€” and we build around it.

What this role looks like

You'll carry a part-time caseload providing comprehensive psychiatric care to children, teens, and young adults via telehealth. Afternoon, evening, and weekend availability is required โ€” that's when families can actually show up.

Day-to-day you'll:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and formulate evidence-based diagnoses
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients and their families
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust as needed
  • Provide brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation alongside medication management
  • Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators in regular case reviews
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in our EHR
  • Educate families about diagnoses, treatment options, and what to expect

What we offer

  • Competitive fee-for-service per-session pay
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision (for eligible team members)
  • PTO based on employment status
  • CEU reimbursement
  • Clinical mentorship and case consultation โ€” new graduates are welcome
  • A collaborative team that treats integrated care as the standard, not the exception

What we're looking for

  • Active, unrestricted Virginia PMHNP license (multi-state or compact preferred)
  • Ability to practice independently without an MD collaboration agreement โ€” required
  • PMHNP-BC board certification
  • Active DEA license
  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited PMHNP program
  • Experience with or strong interest in working with youth and families
  • Comfortable working independently in a telehealth environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and genuine empathy

Who we are

We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months. We built Backpack because the old model wasn't working โ€” for kids or for the clinicians trying to help them.

When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.

Backpack Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in age, background, identity, and experience โ€” and we mean it.
