Parts Sales

Job Summary
The role of the Parts Sales is to be responsible for assisting all customers and mechanics in securing needed parts and supplies. This position will also be accountable for achieving the monthly sales and gross profit forecasts, and for seeking and soliciting parts sales.
Essential Functions
  • Work with customers and mechanics to fill parts requirements
  • Prepare invoices for all over the counter sales, and house requisitions for all parts that are issued to the shops
  • Assist all customers on phone and prepares efficient sales orders and invoices for various parts
  • Assist in maintaining stock levels, receiving and shipping parts, and in issuing local purchase orders
  • Work with outside salesmen to fill the customer’s parts requirements in order to obtain maximum customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance in the customer parts area and parts warehouse
  • Update and maintain master parts and price books
  • Enter all lost sales into the inventory system so that proper inventory items and levels can be maintained
  • Prepare information for the Parts Manager on parts which may be required for inventory
  • Operate a terminal console and other equipment in fulfilling duties
Qualifications
  • One year parts counter experience or related mechanical/technical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prefer experience dealing with the public in sales/service capacity
  • Computer skills preferred
Typical Physical Activity
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.
Typical Environmental Conditions
Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
