WRAPAROUND PEER PARENT PARTNER

ย An integral member of the Child and Family Team, the primary role of the Parent Partner is to provide active, hands-on โ€œpeerโ€ support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services within the Wraparound Program. This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to families/caregivers in a variety of environments within the Franklin County and Grand Isle, VT area. This position works independently in the familyโ€™s home and in a variety of community and/or treatment settings and serves as a liaison for parent involvement.

Under supervision of the Facilitator/Case Manager, the Parent Partner will work with clientโ€™s caregiver to implement the treatment plan goals, which are family-centered, community-oriented, strength-based, culturally sensitive and highly individualized. Parent Partners are responsible for representing the interest and concerns of caregivers participating in the Wraparound Program through NFI located in St. Albans, VT.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have personal life experience as a parent or caregiver of at-risk child(ren).
  • High School Diploma, General Equivalency Degree or higher.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a changing environment.
  • Experience working with families/children involved with the juvenile justice system, dependency court system, child welfare system.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to relate to a culturally diverse clientele and professional colleagues.
  • Possession of a valid Vermont driverโ€™s license, and utilization of their personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Familiar with Windows operations system, MS WORD, EXCEL, email, etc.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
