Business Development Manager (Canada)

Acceler8Labs

Toronto, ON

Full-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

Acceler8 Labs is where growth gets personal.

We're a growth marketing company founded by two former Facebookers who decided to build something better after seeing the gap between traditional agencies and the real needs of modern brands.

We believe scale isn't about bigger budgets but smarter decisions. Our team has helped brands across the globe generate over $1 billion in revenue by combining sharp strategy, bold creativity, and hands-on execution.

We're designed for the digital era, where everything evolves at the speed of light. Our work evolves alongside it, adapting to the industries, platforms, and audiences we help grow.

We partner with some of the world's fastest-growing brands, from disruptive startups to global household names, to turn marketing spend into measurable business growth.

About the Role

We're looking for a full-time Business Development Manager who can turn great work into consistent growth.

You'll take qualified opportunities and turn them into long-term client relationships, leading conversations from discovery through to proposal, negotiation, and close. You'll speak directly with founders, CMOs, Heads of Growth, and other senior decision-makers, digging into how their businesses actually grow and where Acceler8 can make a meaningful difference.

This is a senior, sales-focused role for someone who understands growth marketing beyond the campaign level. You'll connect paid media, creative, conversion, retention, and measurement to the commercial realities of a business, then translate those opportunities into a compelling reason to work with Acceler8.

You'll support the top of funnel through prospecting and lead generation, as well as Acceler8's founders and leadership team on high-value opportunities, proposals, pricing, and closing strategy.

As a Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Take ownership of qualified opportunities, leading the sales process from discovery through to proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Lead thoughtful discovery conversations with founders, CMOs, Heads of Growth, and other senior decision-makers to understand their business objectives, growth constraints, marketing challenges, and commercial priorities
  • Look beyond individual campaigns to understand the broader business, including customer acquisition, retention, AOV, CAC or CPA, LTV, MER, ROAS, conversion rate, channel mix, and profitability
  • Identify where Acceler8 can create meaningful value across paid media, creative strategy, measurement, conversion, channel expansion, or broader growth strategy
  • Navigate conversations with prospects who may already have an internal marketing team or agency partner, building a credible case for why a different approach may drive stronger results
  • Develop and present tailored proposals that connect Acceler8's services directly to the prospect's business goals and growth opportunities
  • Partner closely with our Growth Development Representative on lead quality, Ideal Customer Profile refinement, prospect insights, and opportunities moving through the pipeline
  • Collaborate with Acceler8's leadership team on sales strategy, pricing, proposals, and high-value opportunities
  • Maintain disciplined CRM management and accurate visibility across opportunities, conversion, expected revenue, and pipeline health
  • Use HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Google Workspace, and other sales and prospecting tools to research opportunities and maintain an organized sales process
  • Represent Acceler8 at conferences, dinners, networking events, and other opportunities to build relationships and strengthen our presence in the market

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5-10 years of experience in business development or sales, including at least 3 years working within a media, advertising, performance marketing, ecommerce, or growth-focused agency environment
  • Have sold marketing or agency services and understand how DTC and ecommerce businesses grow, not simply how individual advertising campaigns are managed
  • Can confidently discuss metrics such as revenue, AOV, CAC or CPA, LTV, MER, ROAS, conversion rate, retention, and contribution margin, and understand how they connect to the economics of a business
  • Understand how paid media fits into a broader growth strategy spanning creative, conversion, retention, promotions, merchandising, CRM, organic channels, marketplaces, and other acquisition channels
  • Can look at a business, ask intelligent questions, identify potential growth constraints, and translate those challenges into opportunities Acceler8 may be able to solve
  • Are a strong consultative seller who can build credibility with founders and senior marketing leaders without relying on a scripted pitch
  • Are comfortable selling into organizations that may already have an agency or internal marketing team and navigating the complexity involved in making a change
  • Have experience using a modern sales stack, including CRM, lead sourcing, enrichment, LinkedIn prospecting, and pipeline reporting
  • Have a builder's mindset and are comfortable being hands-on across research, discovery, proposals, follow-up, negotiation, and closing
  • Are curious, strategic, tenacious, and organized, and care about winning the right clients and building relationships that last
  • Live in Canada (we're a remote-first team)

Why Acceler8 Labs?

We built Acceler8 to bridge the gap between agencies and brands, replacing complexity with clarity and collaboration.

Our model is rooted in three pillars: Fuel (media), Spark (creative), and Insight (analytics), each designed to move faster, think smarter, and deliver measurable impact.

Here you'll have the room to experiment, fail fast, and learn even faster. Your ideas won't get lost in a Slack thread. You'll be part of a team that values transparency, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

We take care of our people so they can take care of their work, their families, and themselves.

We offer:

  • Remote workdays so you can design a schedule that works for your rhythm
  • Comprehensive benefits to make sure you and your family are supported, healthy, and cared for
  • Learning and certification opportunities to help you grow your craft, not just your title
  • Real autonomy because we believe in hiring smart people and giving them the space to do great work
  • The chance to build something that scales for our clients, and for you

If you're ready to lead a team that's redefining what performance marketing looks like, we'd love to chat.
